This is what I'm working on tonight. Already eaten the sausage dogs. Venison sausage btw. Pairs really well with the DR 15.

For a city its size, Reno's beer scene holds its own. It's grown enough just in the last five years that there really is something for everyone. Great Basin and Silver Peak have the most as far as shear quantity, but there's also lower alcohol session beers (Under the Rose), European-style lagers (Pigeon Head), old world pub-style beers (Brasserie St. James), experimental avant-garde-type stuff (Brewer's Cabinet, Lake Tahoe Brewing) and lots more. Hell, we just got new breweries in Incline Village and Tonopah -- a mining town of maybe 4,000 people -- in the last year alone. It's a damn good time to be a beer drinker here.

Welcome. I have kinfolk that live in winnemucca Nevada and a cousin who just graduated from Nevada who introduced me to picons or however the hell you spell it at the basque bar there in Reno.

Just rolled up to Toranado in the cab. The line was 60-80 deep. Apparently PtY is being tapped in 9 minutes. I told the cabbie to take me to Monk's Kettle so I can get an Elder. Damn 8:15 dinner reservations.

Maca, they just started bottling the variants this year, so I'm not sure of the timeline this year. They still are bottling Sin Mint, French Quarter, and Mole this year though, so I'm sure someone up here could snag you one if you're interested when they come out!

So I passed on the line at Toronado and by the time I got to Monks Kettle there was a wait to get in. Sadly, no beer for me tonight. It was not a BSDesque evening, unless you count the baller ass dinner we had with friends.

Yeah the French Quarter is awesome. I really enjoy the Mole a lot too. It's a pretty interesting set of ingredients. Can't really go wrong with any of the Temptress variants though!

Can anyone recommend some breweries to check out in the Phoenix area? Heading there for a couple days for a work conference. I also plan to hit the local Specs or equivalent and bring some bottles home. I know nothing about the craft beer in that area so any recommendations are appreciated.

Was at the Hay Merchant anniversary party last night, and it was crowded as sheet as expected. I didn't get there until 6 and it wasn't too nuts, but my buds said it was asses to elbows starting at 3. CBS and KBS went within 30 mins. I got a Karbach BBH w vanilla, a Double Chocolate Bomb, and a Victory Earth & Flame. Tap list was ridiculous though.

Has anyone seen Lagunitas Undercover around CS or the Metroplex?

I think Santan brewery is in that area. They have a few good beers. Not sure if they have a tasting room or anything though.

Where on FM407 is this going in? Google maps is failing me. I live in Grapevine but am up in HV fairly often. Between this new place you're talking about and the growler bar going in at Central Market in Southlake, my growler is about to start seeing much more frequent fills.

It's not on Google Maps yet. It's just west of Briarhill. I think the little shopping center is called The District of Highland Village. 32 taps if I remember correctly. They apparently did a "test run" last night according to their Facebook page, and are doing another one today. For training. Might have to see if I can get in on that, I need a growler fill for Casino Night tonight!

Me and IrishAggie are planning on hitting that up! I kind of wonder how much of a madhouse it will will be considering it's at Mellow Mushroom in the middle of Southlake. Definitely want to try them all next to each other and figure out which variant I like best.
