One of my all time favorites here. Absolutely love that great banana and clove taste. I do have to admit that the Gordon Biersch may have a better nose to it. That result was surprising to me. Gordon Biersch hefe is rising on my favor list.

Every hefeweizen weisse bier lover should seek out Hacker and sample for themselves. It is not easy to find and also not cheap, paid $10 for the 6er but it's worth it.

Thanks, I've been working on that for a few months. Ive had a little help from some kind folks out in Portland who were able to source some RRBC out there and I've obviously brought some back this week. I do have more than just RRBC though, but most everything else is in boxes in my closet until I start drinking a little more. If you want the see The definition of overkill, you should look at my wine problem!!!

Bonfire, I'm not cooking a damn thing! That's the best part. We are doing a pairing menu but the foods are being picked and cooked by someone else. If you ever bring the trailer down, I'll do a zin and petit party with a few beers on the side.

Call me crazy, but this is dang good beer. Hints of cinnamon. Found it in the blue moon mix pack.. which btw was all good. Had a belgian ipa, a winter warmer, this one, and plain ol blue moon.

Chocolate Ale from Boulevard

Really, really goood. Nice creamy ale on the front, finishes sweet with the chocolate coming through just right.

I have a buddy at KU law who waited 30 minutes in line for a pour and the keg was kicked when he came back around for a refill. I was lucky and able to buy three 750's.

They had cases of that chocolate ale at the Houston HEB last week

Did you buy some? It's good stuff and goes quick (around these parts)

I picked up one. Might try it tomorrow night.

Specs and D&Q still have quite a bit too...

Just picked up some Trout Slayer, and it's fast becoming a new favorite.

Marooned- they had Hacker-Pschorr at the Brauhaus in Bryan last fall on tap. And wow. Haven't been back there since though.

Has anyone else here tried La Fin Du Monde? I'm assuming yes, just want to hear what people think, i.e. would they agree with it being the best wheat beer out there analysis?

Just had Iron Thistle for the first time....dang good brew.

Ok, so I hit City Acre Brewery in Houston today.  Not bad, but I really don't see myself ordering multiple glasses at a bar.  That being said, the brews were interesting:



The first, the saison, was good.  Not an all day Saison because I could use a little more flavor (personal thing maybe).  Not a bad beer, though.  It got better as it settled in.    

The helles just wasn't my style... Not a lot of flavor and not interesting to me.

The Chai Porters (A,B, and C) were  very, very interesting...lots of spices with some being more intense with cinnamon or pine than the others.  Not that you guys had them but A and C were more balanced. B was too cinnamony.

The chocolate stout was great, with a biIt of fruit on it.  The strawberry stout was a little too fruity.

Bottom line:  good, interesting beers but they'll need one for the masses (instead of intense, one and done beers) to be profitable. 

What the F...is city acre brewing? I live in Houston and have never heard of it. I will gladly give them my money to be a beer guinea pig.
