I just realized that Beer Week will be happening while I'm in NorCal in February for my Pliny trip. I may have to plan to hit the opening celebration and the Bear Republic beer dinner.

Everybody always talks about Pliny, but I really enjoyed Blind Pig...although I've only had it on tap. Haven't seen it in bottles anywhere.

They are both excellent. I've seen bottled Blind Pig in Cal quite often but don't know how far it goes outside of there. The RRBC Happy Hops was a seriously good pale ale but I don't think it's distributed. I've only had it at the brewery.

Been working my way through the Sam Adams small batch collection. Drinking the "Third Voyage Double IPA " tonight. Really good stuff. Would drink again.

I may be hitting Bovolo. I haven't been there in 2 years so it's about that time. I wanted to go to Cyrus but I'm not taking nice clothes so that's out. Whatever fits in a carryon is all I'm taking so I can check more boxes of beer on the return trip!

Never been there as I usually check in on my zin wineries on Dry Creek or head over to Chalk Hill Rd. I hear Arista is beautiful though. Didn't you get married there?

noticed HEB carries 3 of the Bear Republics in the Tine. Ive had Racer 5 & Red Rocket, considered picking up some of the Hop Rod Rye, but didnt.

yea, Somiller I was working with at the time said it was the most beautiful winery she had ever visited.

It was the best we went to in RRV Dry Creek and Napa. But she had been all over the world.

I recommend it - owners are Texans (he was Dentist from Texarkana) Pretty darn good wine too IMO. But ima Pinot fanatic.

I would kill to open something like the Dry Creek General Store - but add in some small pizzas too.

Any one ever visit the Great Divide Brewery - I will be around them in Feb thinking about hitting them up - any knowledge?

That's a nice place to get hitched! Well done.

I'll be hitting lagunitas on this trip...never been before. I doubt I'll do a tour the facility but I'll certainly taste everything they offer.

This is on my list to do when i go in march. Have tickets to avalanche game, will probably try to do dinner and beers before the game.

Great Divide is pretty cool and it's right downtown, but I'd recommend creating a day trip around Oskar Blues, Avery, and Lefthand. Or up the ante, give yourself two days, and add the Ft Collins breweries to the list (with New Belgium at the top).

Havent had Red Chair yet. This is actually the first time I have seen it around these parts since I fell in love with Deschutes.

im trying to dry out a bit so i didnt go apresh*t on buying today, but never see the Burton so i had to grab it.

I'll let you know what I think.
I actualy prefer that HEB over the Specs at Wirt for beer selection.

my HEB has more Bud Ice then anything.........half the isle is devoted to 40s........


But Natty singles are only .52 cents

HEB by me is by far the best beer selection compared to grocers. It's a decent 2nd place to specs, but the 3rd place kroger is really lacking.
The heb is one of those huge hybrids though, may have something to do with it.

I hate the DFW area for beer. Our decent stores are so spread out, and the Specs is lacking. Hopefully, they improve. They have the space, just need to fill it...

I love the GD taproom. They make great beer, and it's nice to try all the different Yeti's ($3 pints, $1 samplers).

I ordered a 5-gallon keg of Oak-Aged Yeti for $65, which is 1/4 the cost of buying it buy bombers ($9).
