I was hanging on to this Commonwealth stout from steve00 until cooler weather. Mexican style hot chocolate stout with chili peppers, cinnamon, dulce de leche, vanilla beans, and cacao nibs. Yum.

Gonna stage my next beer pic in front of one of my GFCI outlets.

Picked up more Sierra Nevada Oktoberfest today. Was eyeing some other sixers, but it was discounted and since it won't be here long I figured what the heck!

I drove out through Katy on i10 yesterday and was reminded of the existence of No Label. How the heck are they still in business? Are any of their beers any good? I haven't had one in years but every beer I ever had was very sub-par.

Not a fan - the fruited sours are like chewing Metamucil. They just dump base beer into fruit puree to crank out various 'spills' every week. I've had a couple of their hazy IPAs too and ended up drain pouring them. Of course that's my opinion, but their pretty colors and fruited beers are doin it mostly for the 'gram

That's unfortunate. I drank a ton of Holy Roller last time I was in NOLA. I still can't understand why they have a brewery here but no distribution.

Some of my snobby area beer friends call them B52 south (for multiple reasons). They've had a lot of issues and yeah, their stuff certainly looks good on the gram. They're hit or Miss.

*No hate for B52 though as I compose this post from their biergarten. They're all killer, no filler. See y'all at B52 Oktoberfest next Saturday?

Went to Alpine this weekend. Saw some mule deer and a 6x6 elk showed up this week. Glassed for him, but no luck in person. Always good to recharge out there.

Spent the past week in Colorado. On the drive up got to stop in at Coaltrain Liquor (in Colorado Springs). First time there and would highly recommend it. Great/helpful staff and probably the best beer selection I've ever seen.

Also got to stop in at the Casey taproom in Glenwood Springs. Obviously great sours and they're starting into IPAs & barrel aged stouts.



Beers for the stay plus some take homes.
