Celebration is goooooooood.

Finally drank my Saison du Buff (Stone brewed) tonight. REALLY good. Herbs were detectable but not overpowering and had a good hoppiness to it.

Beers from the last two night (with some Lagunitas IPAs mixed in)

Sipping a DFH 120. I don't care for the sweetness.

BSD, totally forgot that I'm flying in and out of Austin this weekend. I think that kills the bottle share.

I am bringing some bottles to the tailgate. Probably some Zombie Dust, Russian River Stuff, and I already have some KBS and surly brews down there leftover from the LSU game. I'll probably also pull a nice American sour and/or lambic to celebrate such a great football season.

You son of a ...!!!!! I'm kidding. That actually might be a good thing as I'm sick right now. No beer or wine for me yesterday and we actually bailed out on thanksgiving dinner at a friend's house. This cold sucks donkey balls.

Well damn. My wife and kids went to Mississippi for Thanksgiving, and today her grandfather passed away. So I'll be leaving first thing in the morning for Mississippi. Hold on to that Bodacious for me Jetch. Poor one out tonight for Milton Ward. He was a wonderful man and loving grandfather and parent.

Anyone ever tried anything from Pedernales Brewing? I saw them for the first time yesterday at HEB and picked up the Texas Lager, Dark Lager, ipa, and Hefe-weizen in a make your own six pack.

I too scored some Stone Enjoy By at an HEB - very very good stuff.

I tell you what, it pays to sign up for living social/groupon, and keep an eye out for liquor store deals. I've picked up a handful from both totaling $160 to spend at two different liquor stores near my home for half price, $80.

There was a limit on both purchases, 1 for you and 1 as a 'gift'. So my wife got a 'gift'. Want more than that? Sign up with a work/spouse or other alternate email.

Thoughts?

I asked for that mint chocolate stout last night at the bar but they were out. Bartender recommended the Stone Smoked Porter with Vanilla Bean instead...GROSS. Couldn't get that smoky aftertaste out of my mouth. Still dying to try the mint chocolate...did you get that in DFW?

I found that one at King's on Berry street in FW. I believe Specs on Hulen also had a few bottles.

I might be picking another one up if I can find it again. I thought it was a great beer. The chocolate was not as sweet as I expected, a little bitter even, but the mint added a nice touch.
