damn, that's f-in outrageous. 120 min ipa on tap was just $7/8oz at a bar near me the other weekend, that's still only $14 a pint; however that's 18% abv!

yeah i can only imagine what Hay Merchant will be charging for thier 120 this saturday, but im sure it will be high.

is that price more or less set by SA, like the 6 packs? or completely the bar's discretion?

Bar discretion, most other places were at 7 or 8 bucks/ pint I think

I should note that he said the macro beer sucked...but his hotel (bottom) brewed their own beer, another hotel they visited brewed their own beer, and then there was that microbrewery in the top one.

He said that they were actually good beers - he is an IPA person but not hardcore into beer. A lot better than any other beers that he has had in Asia (that werent imported or Japanese).

Howdy LaFours, I added that to the collection from the Spec's in Georgetown. I was hoping for some Hops and Grain but the Williamson County Spec's didn't really have that great of a selection of Austin brews. I also hit up the one in North Round Rock by the IKEA.

Wow, the remaining tickets to GABF went on sale to the general public today at 10am(mtn) and sold out in 45 minutes. Craft beer is doing very well. Looking forward to going and hope to see some of you there on Thursday.

And the fact that there are about 100 tickets up on StubHub ranging from $150-$600 really pisses me off.

Any breweries of note to check out in LA? I'll be here until Monday and we don't really have a plan.

Don't have much experience in LA, but SD is a goldmine. Port/Lost Abbey is in San Marcos. If you're in Orange/Riverside area it wouldnt be too long of a drive(depending on traffic)

Celebrating IPA day

Stuck in a hotel on IPA day... Doing my best and having a few inversion IPA's.

So far tonight I've had an Inversion IPA, a Kona Wailua Wheat, and I am now having a Maui/Jolly Pumpkin Sobrehumano Palena'Ole.



It's pretty good. But the price point is very steep. $13 something for a six pack. But I figured what the hell.

I think my pallet is jacked from the other beers and dinner. I grilled steaks, corn, and bacon wrapped asparagus. I also roasted some new potatoes with rosemary and minced garlic.

Oh and I picked up some Mendocino Brewing IIPA. I'll be having one of those later.
