Do they still do that in Duncan? That was a junior privilege in my time in the Corps.

It's making fun of Arky's "soooey" cheer: It's also a call to slaughter.

The week prior to the Arkansas game, the 'butts had to stand on chairs and do their best version of Pigs Sooie.
I imagen this died when we left the SWC and I was curious if it was revived when the series resumed.

I'd doubt it; apparently all the Duncan traditions are dead now.

Some 6 years ago, more or less, they sang it at Aggie Park after the Battle of Flowers parade. Mother's Club was shocked, shocked I tell you. That was the last time I ever heard in. Best memory of it is when we had the fish on stage singing it at the Campus Theater the night the feature was The Boys in the Band.

BQ Song was new music right along with Patton and Green Beret

A lot of the traditions are dead now... they love to constantly remind us that the Corps is a "leadership organization", not a "military organization"

I was class of 86 and have no memory of it.

I remember singing Dixie in Duncan periodically for some reason (steak for dinner?) but I bet that has long since been censored. The whole damn world is run by Karens now.

Lost in the mists of time, this might have been a BQ thing.

you must have been on the west side of Duncan because we (BQ's 87) definitely stood in our chairs and called the hogs in the fall of 1985

That went on in the east side as well in the 1970s. Sergebutt privilege.

Never heard a word of the BQ song because we were drowning it out in Duncan banging our forks and knives on the table as hard as we could. Great times and memories.

I definitely called the hogs in '88 as a BQ.

I believe the BQ song died fairly recently. The story I was told was that there was a USAF O-7 whose daughter was a BQ fish and didn't care for the lyrics. No idea if that's actually true.

Then that song is dead because we aren't gonna play Rice anytime soon

FWIW calling the Hogs is just about the last tradition that needs reviving. Showing up for all home games would be a good start.
