Rumor that cadets aren't required to attend the game because of the holiday. Key word is rumor.

The "Rumor" mentioned by Wildman is both right and wrong.

Cadets are not required to return to campus until January 19th (start of the Spring semester) because the Fall semester is now over. Due to COVID-19, the semester ended earlier this year, so that students could return home for the Thanksgiving weekend and not have to return to campus until the Spring semester. Last day of regular classes was Tuesday, 24 November. All final exams are on-line, so all Texas A&M students can take their Finals at home and not have to return to campus until the start of the Spring semester on January 19th.

So NO, the rumor that cadets don't have to return because of the holiday is not 100% correct. They don't have to return because the Fall semester is now over. We still expect some cadets to return for the game, but not the entire Corps. Most of the Band will return and play in the stands during the game, but the game is optional for all cadets to attend since the semester is now over and students are not required to return to campus until 19 January. Any cadets that DO return to attend the LSU game must be in uniform.

There will be no Corps march-in for the LSU game as a result. There will also be no Corps march-in for the Ole Miss game whenever that home game is scheduled in December.

Happy Thanksgiving to all. And Beat the Hell Outta LSU! AND COVID-19!!

So, still, not entirely clear. Will the cav/cannon-firing at the quad happen, followed by FTAB marching to Kyle, etc.?

No Cav firing the cannon on the Quad, and no Corps march-in for LSU or Ole Miss.

Assuming we can work the arrangements with Transportation, the Aggie Band may march to Kyle Field for the LSU game Saturday the way they always do prior to a game. But there will be no Corps march-in for LSU or Ole Miss, for the reasons stated in the earlier post.

Commandant- if the plans crystalize can you let us know what time the band would step-off? Thanks.

I understand and agree with the reasoning.

It still sucks.

But then, so does almost everything else about 2020.

Bones - the Aggie Band will step off from the Quad to march to Kyle Field tomorrow at 4:45 PM. They will follow the normal route, but will enter the stadium at Entry 7 (NE corner of the stadium), instead of entering at the SE tunnel.
