Specifically looking for assistance from those that have been in a command position, or at least XO.

There are a lot of things that require OPREP3s, some of which I understand, some of which I don't. But why do commanders try to find every excuse to not send these up? For example, right now not only do you have to send one up for every Marine that's positive for COVID, you ahve to send one for any dependent as well. Also, if someone has suicidal ideation, I've seen a CO argue with the psychiatrists about it, trying to get them to change their diagnosis.

Do these reports negatively reflect on the command and the CO? In my mind, the requirement for some of these reports is excessive. But if HQMC wants to be inundated with so many reports, I say just send them. Yeah, it's extra work, but what's the potential harm in just sending it is I guess my question.

Thanks
