Howdy,

We have awarded our 20th 'Ring It Forward' Aggie Ring Scholarships to Veterans in honor of the Aggies we have lost while in service to the country since 11 September 2001.

Our goal is one for each of the 37 we have lost, then to Endow a Veterans Ring scholarship to continue to say 'Thank you for your service!" in the most impactful Aggie way we know!

Please help by donating if you can, or by spreading the word....

Every dollar counts! One of the first contributors suggested donating the amount that corresponds to your graduation year ($90 for '90)

All of the 'Thank you' notes are humbling, but this one was special....

Dear Sir or Ma'am,

Let me start by saying, there really are no words that can express my true emotions about this gift you have given me. I was visiting with my father when I received the news, and I instantly stopped talking. He asked me what was wrong and when I told him, he just smiled and told me that karma is finally coming back around in my favor. These past 16 months have been rough mentally, emotionally and financially, and I am just now starting to find my footing again. Luckily, Texas A&M and people like yourself have been amazingly generous and supportive throughout my first year at this university. I transferred here from Texas State University last spring after taking a five year break from school. I have never felt more accepted or appreciated for my military service than I have here. I set goals for myself, one of which was to complete 45 hours my first year here so that I would be eligible to apply for a ring before I graduate in August of 2017. It was a long stressful year, and taking 18 hours this past fall definitely put me to the test, and consumed all of my time, but I managed to pull through and maintain a 3.8 GPA. Again, there really are not enough words to say Thank You for providing such a special gift. Receiving the news was such a humbling experience, and it is not one that I will soon forget. I promise that it will not go unappreciated, and I hope to be able to pay it forward in the years to come. From the bottom of my heart, thank you, and I look forward to the day that we can meet.

Very Respectfully yours,
leasterwood
