A fascinating and rare artifact of Aggie history: colored footage of Aggieland in the spring of 1942.

The family of Hughes "Buddy" Seewald '42 shared this video with Texas A&M in 2012. Buddy can be seen on New Main drive in front of the Administration Building waving and laughing at the beginning of the film.

The 1940's vehicles, luggage and civilian clothing are captured against the backdrop of familiar uniforms and senior boots.
The Academic Building is plainly visible, as well as other buildings. Notice the panoramic view of the cadets passing in review; Do you recognize any buildings that are still standing today? Any spots you don't recognize?

Of the cadets marching, shaking hands, and smoking cigars, many would commission and serve their country as Military Officers in WWII.
