My 93 year old dad recently opened his "hidden" safe to find that humidity and moisture had destroyed his medals. He looked like a Mexican general with all of them on his mess dress uniform. They range from WW2 medals to the bronze star. Is there a way to replace these? The ribbon part fell apart.

You might be able to get replacement medals and/or ribbons from Medals of America. I am on their mailing list. They had some pretty decent stuff, and their prices aren't too bad. They can be reached at:
MEDALSOFAMERICA.COM or call them at 1-800-308-0849

Hope this helps.

You can order a replacement set through NMRC in St. Louis, for free. I'll get the link for in a bit.

Edit: And I see it is already posted above me.

Hey Nav has the best way to get a replacement set. Every veteran is permitted one replacement set of medals free of charge during their lifetime. Should they be deceased, next of kin can get the set. I helped a WWII vet get his although it took a bit of effort because his army records were burned in the great archives fire. If your dad has DD214 or equivalent with his awards listed, that would help a lot.
Good luck,
