Ok, more seriously maybe a desk nameplate with room for their branch and rank insignia. I got one as a promotion gift earlier in my career and appreciated it.

The best present I got when I made AF O-4 was my AF Dress Hat with the scrambled eggs on it. Our neighbors, who were our best friends and drinking buddies gave it to me.
