I am starting a new thread for San Antonians on testing for Covid 19.

Tuesday April 27
I had a high fever last night with associated body aches. No other symptoms.

Wednesday 28 April
This morning at approximately 0600 I filled out the online self test for Bexar county testing.
https://covid19test.quacito.com/

The results indicated I might have Covid 19 so I registered for a test at 650 am.
https://www.txcovidtesting.org/

I received a text message with a case number and then a phone call at 917 am (their hours are 8-5). The phone call took my information and then scheduled me for an appointment at 1040 am.

I got to Freeman Colesium at 1035. The arena is manned by firemen and health personnel. They provided me with a mask and tissue paper. . They checked me in multiple times by pressing my ID against the window of the car. At about 1057 am I got waved into Lane 4. They had me open my door and they did a nasal swabs of both nostrils (this sucks).

Saturday May 2nd at 9 pm
I missed an automated phone call this evening for my results. Of course the voicemail recording was just an automated voice asking you to "Press one" for your results. I also received a text informing me I could get them through a website.

Of course the website is not working. I am getting an invalid login message which means something in their SSO is failing. Of course there is no one to talk to at this time.

Sunday May 3rd 1230 am
Credentials begin working. I am Negative for Coronavirus.

Hope you come back as a negative . Getting the prostrate exam through the nostril does not sound pleasant.

Good luck, Halcon. Hope everything comes out clear. I have heard of people around town getting fevers but not associated with Covid.

I'll update when results come in.

I thought the test was supposed to be two swabs to the same nostril. Not one in each. Plus I heard it's uncomfortable. True?

One swab to both nostrils.
My nasal cavity and the back of my throat felt like they were on fire. haven't had a sore throat except in the 24 hours after the swab.
On the second nostril the RN teasingly said "Don't make me chase you!" At the start of the swab I swear I was leaning half of my body out the car. When she was done I was sitting on the center console.
I have lived a pretty physical life. I have lots of bumps, bruises and blood I don't remember. I will remember this.

I think I'll wait to get abducted by aliens then. If I get Rona'ed, I get Rona'ed.

The Texas Emergency Medical Task Force application started working early this morning for my credentials. Coronavirus negative for me.
Hope the details of the process are useful to some.

In terms of my health between the test and the results, I continued to have intermittent fever, chills and sweats. I developed extreme diarrhea and was constantly drinking water to stay hydrated through Saturday am. I am on the upswing. I went to the ER late Saturday evening and they said I look fine. All I can guess was that I possibly got food
Poisoning? Who knows.
