Had my ring stolen along with wedding ring and watch this afternoon from hotel room (Omni La Mansion del Rio RiverWalk) while in the shower!! Security for the hotel did their check, no cameras in the halls and filed a report with SAPD. Will be checking eBay and pawn shops

Was it a electronic key? They have records of those locks.

This. If the thief was a hotel employee, they'd be smart to have a temp key issued, but even then, that could be logged in the computer. If it was an assigned key, it would be very easy for them to track down.

One way peeps can get in as well to those rooms is through the balcony door. We stayed there a few weeks ago and when I went into the room the balcony door was unlocked. I just happened to open it to see what the balcony view was. Also it is a communal balcony so there were no dividers. If we had just dropped crap off and split, someone easily could slip in from a room next to ours in/out and we wouldn't realize it.

Glad it was found and returned.
