Going to SA this week for granddaughter's grad from Air Force BMT at Lackland. Staying at motel nearby but need good restaurant help from some good Ags that know the area. Want the best Mexican food for one night with the family but also one night of "fine dining--steak, seafood , Italian most anything but Greek (I like, wife does not) or Chinese (again, I like but wife will only eat if really up-scale---then we both like. Thanks

Yeah, stay far north of Lackland and travel down to Lackland-centric events. Downtown/Riverwalk is best, but LP 410/HWY 151 area is decent. No "fine dining" choices there , mostly chains. But it's pretty safe and closer to good stuff. (Try going out 151 to Rudy's BBQ for lunch one day, if good Texas BBQ is something you don't have ready access to.)

You could stay in Castroville, not far from Lackland.

Does not compute. Rudy's is not good TX BBQ for crying out loud. It's like a step above Bill Miller's.
