Where are some good places to eat with kids that are local and can't have anywhere else (or at least Houston since that's where we're from)

Go somewhere in the pearl. La gloria is good. They have a nice outdoor area and have live music quite a bit.

With kids, and if the weather holds out... Burleson Yard Beer Garden, The Friendly Spot, The Cove...

The can play on the lawn at La Gloria (even though I think it's overpriced for what you get, it's a nice spot)

From there, if you're making it a day of having beers with the kids, you can walk down to The Luxury and VFW or up to Tacoland from there.

Not a playscape in those places, but plenty of room to run.
