Howdy. My wife and I want to take a last minute trip to San Antonio for Christmas weekend, mainly to show our three year old son the lights on the Riverwalk. We'd like to stay in that area, preferably in a hotel that has suites (i.e., separate bedroom and living area, so he can sleep on a sofabed and we can still watch TV). I've found plenty of hotels that have rooms available, and some suites, but it's hard to tell what's what, or which hotels are nicer or maybe better for a toddler.

Does anybody have any recommendations? Aside from hotel, anything else that you would recommend for a toddler in San Antonio (zoo, etc)? Thanks in advance.

I can't help you with the suite thing, but my favorite hotels along the Riverwalk are:

La Mansion
The Valencia
The Grand Hyatt
Contessa

In no particular order. There's plenty of decent hotels to chose from though.

I think the Contessa is an all suite hotel.
