I have a question about the direction/orientation of louvered A/C registers in a general room. Wondering if anyone has an opinion.

For a room with just one register, should it be oriented so that the louvers direct air toward an exterior wall, or away from it?

Same question for a room with two registers, but also maybe I should direct them opposite from each other to sort of create a circular air flow?

One clarification question...In two of my rooms, the A/C register can be directed toward the heat load or not, but that heat load is a window. And, it's a builder-grade window from 25 years ago.

So, even for those rooms, should I still orient the register to direct airflow to that cheap window?

BTW, I'm not ready to replace the windows (I think I'll move rather than replace because a move is on the horizon --> next 2-3 years so window replacement won't be cost-effective, I believe).
