Recently had gas logs installed in new construction. The pilot light won't stay lit. The valve shuts off so it isn't a safety risk. But it is annoying. It sputters when you try to relight it.

It is a long story, but because the logs were back ordered, and a few other delays, we are out of the builder warranty. But the install is only about 2 months old.

I haven't called the plumber directly, they were contracted through the builder. But I wanted to see if anyone had suggestions on something I could try first before messing with the plumber.

It is the Enviro Dexen valve system if that helps.

Can you see if both sensors to the shut off safety valve are getting hit by the pilot light?

Mine were orange box specials ala propane and wish I had the time/money/tears/frustrastion back serving this beast with parts & tweaks. So many safety features and so sensitive. Always when most needed, will not work for HOURS. e.g. Remember the Feb 2021 freeze morning?

My bet is on a lemon safety part gone bad already! Messing with it as a novice can be the kinda fun ala no eyebrows (burned off) or worse.

Thermocouple is bad. Easily replaced.

I'm no expert on gas logs, but I do know our set will not keep a pilot light on if the oxygen depletion sensor is dirty at all. If you can find this sensor on your unit, you might try blowing it out in case dust or cobwebs built up while it was sitting waiting on an install.
