I finally got around to connecting a Rachio 3 that I purchased while ago.

Based on my address they said my soild i "Loam". Any ideas how accurate their data would be? I assumed loamie clay but I am likely wrong. After changing it to "loam clay" I had 1 flour bed run for over an hour last night w/drip lines and it has standing water today

You can test your own soil using a basic soil test kit from The Home Depot. Inexpensive, easy and accurate, soil tests provide a wealth of knowledge about what's going on under your feet, including the levels of pH, calcium, lime, gypsum and potassium.

I can't help you as I have a Rachio 1. But if you have runoff, unless you do a full advanced setup, I'd go to clay or the one just under it. I had the same problem, (live in far north Dallas burb) and we have lots of clay. I'm trying to find a way to integrate my Flume (gallons per minute) meter so I can accurate estimate consumption per zone. But no luck there and don't understand the advanced settings enough to convert to Gpm.
