I had a contractor redoing our floors who has been a nightmare to deal with and ghosted us before finishing the project. So I'm left with this top stair and landing to finish using Pergo laminate. The recommended stair nose by Pergo is a total POS 2" wide piece that fits over the laminate and creates a nice trip hazard right as you approach the stairs. Other laminate flooring companies make a decent 4" wide piece that clicks in with the planks, but not Pergo. The option I may go with is just using an unfinished stair tread and cutting/planing it to fit, then stain and finish. That creates a small issue with getting it to match up with the flooring planks without using T mold, but it's better than the Pergo option. Has anyone dealt with this before and has ideas?
