Anyone ever have to install sump pump system in a low room similar to this service in this video? Looks like it is a common thing in the north where there are basements. Our garage is currently leaching in rain water after any decent storm as we live on the side of hill and it is the only thing not pier and beam.

As someone in the Midwest with 3 sump pumps (absurd, but that's how it was bought), sounds more like a drainage issue than sump pump being needed. Our house is built into the hill not next to it. Hence the need. Next to the hill should just be drainage away from the house.

Technically half of the house is built into the hill. Meaning two stories are flush to dirt on the back side of house. It is an odd multilevel house.
