How long do you want to ignore this user?
I can just fill it with dirt, but I'm looking to make it more preventative.
Can I just put sac- Crete in the holes and let that solidify with water / rain?

I have no experience with concrete.

Thanks.

Fill with their own poop.

It'll harden if you dry-fill a hole and then pour water in it. I've even heard you can dry-fill a hole and it will pull enough moisture over time to harden, but I've never tried it.

It won't have nearly the rated strength, but it doesn't need it if it's just contained in a hole.

I just need it to be an anti-dog digging area. Will add dog poop to the area too.

Yes.

Fill it up to 3-4 inches below the surface and pour water on it.
then backfill with dirt and water the area thoroughly.

I agree with you if the solution is EZ, fool-proof, permanent (over 10 years) soooo I've been using this for "flood" control but would work for your dog.

Instacart even delivers from Lowes!
Lowes/equal sells Quikcrete in the Red Bag which is lighter and all you do is
knife a hole in it, pour/fill where needed, hose it down as per directions and presto-chango,
dog has to find a new place to dig, so do over if/when it happens.

Also know that HEB & Amazon sell Cayenne Pepper Powder Bulk 4-5 LB ~$30 & it goes a long way, even skunks hate it. A perimeter of that might "train" a dog similar to a Tractor Supply elect.fence wire might.

Would love to see photos of the solution, whatever it may be .... people asking me for what works & not about this all the time ... and the flooding.
GOOD LUCK

Fill one of them with your least favorite dog. The others will learn.

Old school method. (Solves the cause of the problem)

Tie dog near newly dug hole. (Catch them doing it)
Fill hole with water while dog watches.
Shove dog's nose under the water until it panics.

Do this 2-3 times. Most dogs will get the idea that if they dig a hole, they will be "waterboarded" and will stop digging. My hard headed lab took a few more times.

*I read about this method in a really old (1960's ish) dog training book my Dad had, written by the guy who trained all the dogs for the old-school Disney movies. It's a little harsh & you'll get dirty but it worked for me.

Not sure it applies here but here's what I've done.

A few areas of beds in the backyard were dug up by one of the dogs. I pushed as much of the dirt/clay back in as I could, put some pet fence on top of it (like chicken wire), then reapplied mulch.

He'll still walk and lay there, but no more digging.
Staff - take out the trash.

120 lb Rottie most definitely won't let me water board him. He'd prolly waterboard me.

Had to buy a hot wire for mine. He hit it once. Never again.

Wire has since been removed. Still no issues.

luckily, our dogs don't dig, but if we filled with poop, our younger dog would say, "oh look! snacks!"
