We painted our house 12 years ago. I saved the left over paint for touch ups.
There was a water stain on the ceiling from before we had the roof replaced. I primed with Killz, then used the leftover ceiling paint to finish it. After drying, the latex topcoat been putting off a rancid odor. It has been several days, and it still smells. The latex I used for the top coat didn't smell in the can, or while I was painting.
I have tried spraying it with Lysol, but that didn't help.
Any advice?
