So I put a reminder on my calendar to spray my trees for ball moss in late February after reading an article about it last year. I am in SA and have it pretty thick in my live oaks. I planned to use a copper fungicide or baking soda mixture in a hose end sprayer. These are mature oaks probably about 25 feet tall on average. Lawn is St. Augustine.

Anyone done this or have knowledge of the process? Is this pretty harmless to the grass? Am I likely to get adequate coverage with just a hose end sprayer?

I understand it will just kill it and it will fall off over a long time period. Any advice?

Copper based fungicide is commonly used in St. Augustine for Rust and Blight, so I doubt it's a problem.
ETA- I had the wrong funguses. See label:

Thanks. I will be giving it a try in a few weeks so hopefully it's effective.
