Bathroom sinks stink when water turned on.

A couple of months ago, we had our sinks in the master bathroom clog up and we had a plumber come and fix the issue. Since then, when you turn the water on, the sinks (and shower) stinks of septic gas for about 20 seconds then clears up. It does not matter whether its my wifes sink, mine, or the shower. Also does not matter whether it is the hot or cold water.

Any ideas on what to do to fix this?

My 2-cents @ guessing

Vent pipe still plugged - this prevents gas going to nose instead of down drain behind the filled P-trap "smell blocker" = plumber didn't test to see if he did only 1/2 the job
.... snake vent pipe from roof then @ drain
.... use wisely, prudently a power water/air drain un-stopper @ drain

Clog remains further downstream preventing P-trap from working correctly
..... vinegar or baking soda Google U-tube how-tos - carefully
..... liquid Plumber routine
..... running water & plunger try & try again

Grilling others for confessions what's plugging it up history = toys, paper, etc.
haha, been there done that - mine was toilet & a stuffed toy
Ten words or less ... a goal unattainable

Well, the P traps both have water in them, so I am thinking its the main roof vent. I guess I will get up there and see what I can do.

Is the house old? We had a vent pipe separate in the wall in the kitchen behind the refrigerator. House was 1960s.

We had a constant lingering smell though but was worse when the sinks turned on. We had a plumber do a smoke test and that's how they found it.
