Do I need to buy a Dishwasher Installation Kit?

I just ordered a new Bosch Dishwasher and it is arriving in Jan. Do I need to buy a Dishwasher Installation Kit? Or can I just use the one that is being used by my old dishwasher?

It costs about $35 so if it is advisable to change, I can order and use that.

I will be installing it myself.

Just need the drain tube and sometimes the power cord from the old washer.

Main issue would be if the drain outlet is a different size or located on the opposite side of the machine.

I bought a Bosch a couple years back and it didn't come with a power cord from the mfg (by design). I would buy the kit then return it if you don't need it.

If it's all in good condition should be able to reuse everything from your current DW. It's all pretty standard size stuff. New unit should already have a drain hose attached as they pre-route the anti-siphon loop onto the back of the unit.

Just buy a new kit off amazon for much cheaper than the box stores overpriced set. Best to put in all new parts while you are back there.

Thanks guys. Good suggestions. I am leaning towards FatZilla's suggestion of getting a new kit from Amazon and just using that since I will install it anyway.

I installed my own and made sure it's perfectly level. Thats how I learned my countertop isn't level. The differing gap side to side btw the washer and bottom of the countertop drive my ocd crazy.

If the plastic drain hose is older, I'd replace it to be safe.

Power cords are a much more durable item.
