Considering a whole house flow monitor for new build. Looks like it will do alerts and can manually shut off house while on vacation etc. Any feedback to this product?

I use one to monitor water flow remotely. Very simple app and has the ability detect when there is an irregularity in usage. You will have to set it up correctly, but very handy to have.

Do you have to pay the monthly subscription? Im all for wasting money on handy gadgets but subscription fees outside of security piss me off.

I don't pay any subscription and still get updated emails and texts if my system is disconnected or running past my allotted amount. I have not had it turn off automatically since it has not been necessary. I believe the subscription is just for more detailed usage by specific fixtures and some insurance stuff.
