Made a bench out of some pallet wood. No stain, just clear poly finish.

Most of the boards were very dense and much heavier than pine. Pretty sure 4, 9, & 12 are pine as they were other scraps I used, but the rest felt like hard wood. Any keen eyes here know what different types of wood these may be?

The pallets originated in Asia if that helps.

No input on the ID but that looks great, very well done.

Did you just make up your own design or go off of something?

thank you. I went off a tiktok…

i make a bunch of stuff out of pallets. colleague sent me a link of someone making one of these from standard 1x4's and asked if I could do it out if a pallet. made hers from all pine and same width. got these hardwood pallets and the boards were different widths and species so made the legs with the wider ones and alternated the wood types.

planned on selling it but mrs cjo called dibs.

Pallets ar e usually pine or oak.

Bench looks good but I can physically feel the weight of that thing through the photo. Just fyi.

my back can confirm it is indeed a heavy sunuvabench.

here is a picture of boards from same pallet stack with more grain showing.. one on the left feels as heavy as steel

I can see an Oak variety and some SYP (so yellow pine) and maybe others that will take more time to ID

Although a poor depiction of pine, this reference may suggest more exotic woods by comparison but might really be a more available pine variety.

I inherited a ton of wood blanks from a distant family member who passed. Hundreds of wood blanks, most were not labeled. We went to Woodcraft this weekend for some pen kits and the guy working recommended using wood-database.com to identify them.
