I've been washing my cars and others' as a small side hustle for years (when time permits) and mostly use my own hose, either at my house or wherever they are. I can't say I've used them ALL, but I've used virtually all the ones sold in all the major stores -- Lowes, HD, Tractor Supply, Northern Tool, etc. The supposed kink proof hoses are anything but. Some are MORE RESISTANT to kinks but almost none are actually kink proof. You will have those that say their hose hasn't ever kinked, but in my experience, the people that say that haven't really used their hose for much or used it in multiple environments many times, rolled it up and unrolled it, etc. I've done all that for many years. I've thrown away almost all the hoses I've bought except the one I recommend, which I've had now for a decade or so.
I think the way to eliminate kinks is to get a swivel quick attachment on the end of the hose and put it on all your attachments like nozzles and sprinklers. This way the hose doesn't twist and there isn't any stress on it, which means there won't be any reason for kinks in the first place. It doesn't matter which quick release you get, just use Teflon style tape. Anyway, the hose I recommend is the
Sears Craftsman rubber one:
Several places sell it, in multiple lengths. I'd also get a hose reel and a leader to run from the water faucet so you can move the reel around to other faucets.
Sears made the absolute best hose I ever had, in the '90s. I wish I still had it. It truly did not kink, no matter what I did to it. I don't know what happened to it. It was either stolen or my then neighbor mistakenly took it instead of his when I had borrowed his once. At the time, it was in my back yard and I didn't know it was missing for probably a long time. I don't think I realized it until moving. Oh, well.
