no, it matched the grain the best. The other side was too much sapwood for my liking.

this top is about 64" long. I have another commission of a desk nearly identical in style that will be about 80" long which should be a beast.

Ironically, these desks are offshoots of a concept desk I did a few years ago. That desk still has yet to sell, but the general style of it has been redone about 3-4 times for other custom pieces:

the original (people really like it or really dislike it).
