I had an issue with the outdoor faucet leaking continuously. I went to Lowes and bought a new spigot however this one is leaking as well. (Different spot, this one leaks where the spigot and flange connect)

I don't think I can get it much tighter than it is. I am wondering if I bought the wrong type of spigot. I couldn't find the same one at Lowes. The previous one didn't have that plate on the back.

Any thoughts? Ideas?

Here's you pic as it doesn't how up. Did you use pipe tape when you put it on? If not, that may be your problem! I would also recommend a 1/4 or 1/2 turn versus the type you installed.

I did not use tape. That might be it.

Tape did the trick. Learn something new every day.

Make sure you wrap the tape the right way. I use it most but when I am really ready to not do something twice, I use a yellow soft set pipe dope paste. It allowed me to get it tight but not over tight which is nice when orientation matters.
