Cross posted from another board:

Anyone want this for free? I just barely opened the Thomson's and I don't like the color. The framing brackets have been spray painted black for a patio cover project but I never used them.

Pergola that never made it up?

Those dang brackets in black (vs galvanized) are expensive. I can understand why you painted them.

Ha! I've finished the pergola/patio framing. Need to put a finish on it and install a metal roof.

I just didn't end up using the brackets as I found a "cleaner" way to frame it.

Photo below is a mostly complete pergola.

Very cool looking. Smart design. But don't you want more decorative slats for shade?

Thanks! I'm actually going to put a metal roof on it. Not a corrugated one; it will be a flat panel one. They come in either 2' or 3' wide panels that are 12' long.

I'm gonna have to cut a piece as my framing is only 11'4 wide.

Or let it overhang each side evenly.

You don't think 3" will look "unfinished?" I'll have to place the panels up there and see. Good thought - thanks
