After 7 years of living in my house, I decided to stop dragging the hose around and get the irrigation system working. I've had to replace every sprinkler head and the control panel, but it's finally running.

Now my question is how many inches of water per week?
How many days a week, times a day and minutes per?

Houston with St Aug. If it doesnt rain for 2 weeks i turn on the sprinklers. I read somewhere that 3/4" per week is a good average.

This translates to roughly 600 gallons of water per week per 1,000 sq ft of lawn

Yikes, when I say that I see how quickly it adds up for us. I guess that puts me in the 9,000-10,000 gallon range in July, August, September.
