I'm looking for Decora style light switches that will turn themselves off a set time after being turned on. Most of the stuff I find that has this feature is uber expensive. Don't really need a smart switch.

Anyone have experience with something like this and recommendations or recommendnots?

Thanks.

Sure. I have simple ones on the bathroom fans where you set a countdown in 15 min increments up to an hour. ~$30 on amazon

Also have fancier digital ones for outdoor lights where you can set by specific time. ~$40 Amazon

I bought these off of Amazon. I installed 2 of them to control my outdoor lights. Not a smart switch (requiring wifi and/or some type of smart home platform), just a simple timer based switch. It does have a battery backup for when the power goes out. Really easy to install and program.

Does anyone know of a good one that's not 50 dollars that turns on and off at sunrise and sunset.

I bought one of those for my FIL over the weekend at Lowe's. They wanted it for their front porch light.seemed to work fine and hooked up just like any other switch.

Haven't seen one when I was looking, but I just adjust my timer as sunrise and sunset changes. Takes less than 1 minute to do and is easy enough for the price of the switches.

For those looking for dusk to dawn lights for outside applications, I went this route for my two sconces around our garage:

You leave the switch on and they automatically turn on once it gets a little bit dark and then off again once the sun comes out a bit.

They work great, and and obviously still turn on and off when you aren't home. This is likely the cheapest and easiest option.

I use this one on my coach lights. Turns them on at sunset and off 4 hours later.

thanks for the replies ended up going with the Honeywell one. supposedly the backup battery in the leviton one doenst last more than a year or two and cant be replaced according to the reviews.

needed to replace my current one, no longer turns of the LED bulb all the way, basically just dims it to the lowest possible amount. still goes full bright when it is supposed to as well so just a little weird
