My west facing garage door is sticking to the weather stripping in the heat. When I open it, it takes a second and opens with a bang. Any suggestions on what I can use to stop the stick? I tried vasoline which works for a few days but is not match for the heat. Thinking some type of silicone/Teflon spray?

If the silicon lubricant at the auto parts store will stay on it, that's a cheap solution. I'd try to figure out why the weather stripping sticks and replace it if the cheap spray lube doesn't work.

Silicone grease is what you want. Chevy recommends you put it on the door seals.

Never even thought about that. I bet that's why my Chevy door seals are all cracked and torn.

Some choices:
Napa: Sil Glyde
Amazon: Dow Corning 111 Silicone
Wal Mart: Jet Lube Food Grade

Chevy Silverado 2500HD OM:
Silicone grease on weatherstrips will make them last
longer, seal better, and not stick or squeak. Apply
silicone grease with a clean cloth. During very cold,
damp weather frequent application may be required. See
Recommended Fluids and Lubricants on page 6-15.

Try putting tape on the back of the weather seal after a good cleaning.

garage door lube (we like 3amd1) works but will need to be re applied.
