So part of our gutters blew off in storms we had recently. They are older and need some replacement soon, but I was really hoping to replace them whenever we next have to replace the roof. Either way, one is hanging down on the backside of the house. So here are some questions for those in the know on gutters.

1. Besides appearance, do seamless gutters offer additional benefit?

2. Do critters ever get under leafguards and make their home there? I didn't ever think of this until my wife asked.

3. Do brands matter in gutters/leafguards?

1) I'd say go seamless as there are just fewer junctions to deal with.
2) My parents have seamless "leaf guard" gutters that have the weir shape to the top. Water runs along the weir dropping into the gutter but leaves and debris are shed off the top. They've never had a problem with critters.
