I have a closet wall I would like to remove to expand my closet. Already doing some bathroom renovations, so now is the perfect time for it. I am pretty sure it is not load bearing, just wanted some confirmation.

Wall is on the first floor of two story house and about 5 feet from exterior wall. I'd only be removing about 5-6 feet of it.

It is probably not load bearing, but it could be. Is it parallel to the ceiling joists?

No, it's perpendicular to them. That's the only reason I'm concerned.

I am guessing that you don't just want an opening there where you can leave a header.

If you remove it, what do the spans become for the ceiling joists?

what is above it?

are there other walls on the same line of site as this one in other rooms?

Directly above the wall I want to remove is the middle of the room in a guest bedroom. There are no walls above it.
