question for this board.

Is there a app or software package for the DIYer for remodeling?

What I'd like to do is use my pics and overlay ideas on top of it. I've seen a few for the inside, but I haven't found one for the exterior.

Any recommendations?

You could try Sketchup which is a free 3d drawing program (pro version free for 30 days). The free version is sufficient for most projects. https://www.sketchup.com/ and https://www.sketchup.com/3Dfor/landscape-architecture

You can set it up to determine shadow patterns for your yard.

It is fairly easy to use after watching a few tutorials.

I have used Sketchup for many years now. Perfect blend of power and free for a DIY'er like me. Intuitive to learn, and very useful. Highly recommend.

I downloaded sketchup. Figured out it doesn't work well, for me anyways, on a laptop. I needed a real mouse.

I'm making progress.
