My bedroom closet shares a wall with the shower.

We've noticed mold on a few items. Mostly on leather and a few dress shirts that I haven't worn in a really long time that we're in the plastic bags from the dry cleaner.

Do you think this is from moisture migrating through the wall from the shower? Or does mold just grow like that sometimes?

The shower has tile 3/4 of the way up the wall.

Didn't know if maybe I should cut a whole in the wall from the closet side to see if there is mold between the walls. Or if that's overkill.

I def would cut a hole in the wall to see what is going on. We had a leak in the valve of our shower that shares a wall w/our bedroom. We knew because the carpet was wet along that wall & started to mildew. Last week my sister discoverd mold in her hall bath. Turns out there was a bad leak in the wall.

If you see a little mold in the closet then there will be a ton of it behind the wall. There is a moisture issue somewhere.

There is a problem, mold just shouldn't grow without a water leak.
