Collar tilt pool umbrella will not lock in upright position

I came home today and the umbrella was in tilt position even though the collar was all the way to upright. I've messed with it but can't get the little finger to catch. Any ideas? Do I just need to buy a new frame?

My dad's solution would be (actually was...) to slide a piece of PVC over the joint, with a hole drilled through it to run a pin through the hole in the umbrella.

Good point... his was a beach umbrella, no crank.

You could just use worm gear hose clamps at the top and bottom edge of the elbow.

Yea, saw a YouTube video that did that. Pretty sure Mama ain't going for that. Probably have to buy a new frame.

I recently bought a new umbrella. If you crank it all the way to the top it will tilt. If you back off a few turns it goes back to level. The old umbrella I had you had to press a button to make it tilt. Apparently the new style is all the way to the top and it tilts, back off a little and it is level.

Yea, I've seen those but the tilt on this one is controlled by turning the collar.

sleepy, it was just my phone.
