Seeing some of the wood planks on my garage door rot off. At first I thought it was termites but never found any insects. I sprayed it with a bleach mixture to see if it slows down but no luck. Anyone have experience with this?

Is it confined to the garage door?

If it's just the siding, just replace it/ fix the problem areas. If it's the studs/etc, obviously a much larger problem that needs to be addressed asap

To help keep it from happening, make sure to seal any cracks

Right now it's just on the front wood veneer of the garage door. Confined to about two 1"x 4" cedar planks. I have noticed some of my wood fencing has similar.

That's what wood does. Just replace what has issues.

It's important for wood to not touching ground if possible so that it won't wick water. For garage door frames and fencing this is sometimes difficult.

Replaced moms 1x4 with engineered wood 20 years ago with wicked water and 20 years of weather. Looks like new to this day
