Squirrel digging holes in beds

I just got a call from a very irate, very pregnant wife that a squirrel is planting acorns in our freshly redone beds. He's digging holes that are exposing the roots of the new plants and generally causing a nuisance. The obvious answer is to choot it, but I live in suburban Dallas with a very active Nextdoor network of busybodies who will probably cause problems.

Anyone have recommendations for squirrel poison?

1. Get a couple rat snakes

2. let them loose.

3. Post picks on next door of said black cobra mambas on nextdoor page

4. $$

5. Post the Facebook responses on the snake thread on the outdoor board.

Elegant solution, but I need something that won't make my wife kill me in my sleep.

We used a small trap with peanut butter crackers. Caught one a day and took them to the other side of the highway and released them. You have to go a good ways to not have them venture back to your yard. We felt I10 was enough of a barrier. After about 60 days, the squirrels were gone for a good two years.
