1600 sf house with 30 yo hvac needing to be replaced in temple.

Quote is $5900 turnkey for tempstar 3 t 16seer heat pump w/ Tstat

Plan on house is probably sell in next 3 years.

Is this a good price for the system. Thanks

Better than the quotes I got in B-CS
but you mention nothing about sealing the leaky ducts
if it includes both in & out units

If really selling in next 3 years the go as cheap as possible. And that sounds pretty cheap.

I paid about $4000 for a 1.5 ton, 14 seer last July when our 12 year old unit crapped the bed. 16 seer may qualify for tax rebate and only $1,999 for double capacity seems reasonable.

You should get them to quote the lowest SEER they have. Probably a 14 or so.

I also think 3 ton may be on the small side. But. Since you are selling so soon it really doesn't matter.
