Looking for a set to use around the house. I have used most commercial brands working with a home builder, looking for thoughts on home use sets/combos. HD has a few multi-gun sets with differing gauges available...

Thoughts/recommendations/avoids?

I got this one about five years ago. I've beat the hell out of it with weekend warrior stuff - sheds, fences, patio covers, etc. and it's held up well. I got mine at Lowe's, but that looks to be the same set albeit unavailable. I haven't looked for it at Lowe's or HD in a while.

I also got a roofing nailer from Harbor Freight when I needed a backup in a pinch. I was surprised how well it worked. That might be an option as well.

I bought this kit

about two years ago, on sale for $160. Added on the bosch framing nailer, normally $200, got a killer deal for like $130.

Ive built an 8x8 shed, put a few walls up in the basement, added shelves in the pantry, blow out my sprinklers, put up a few hundred feet of chicken fencing with stapler, fixed a few pieces of furniture.

It's paid for itself several times over. Great quality.

Here's the framer.

harbor freight had a $22 18 gauge finish nailer. i figured for that price i could break 4 of those before i would equal what the dewalt cost.

got a small air compressor, accessories, brads and brad nailer for less than the cost of just the dewalt tool...

but this is simply for trim and tiny little jobs around the house.

I bought this set up except for the stapler and used it daily for years. First compressor lasted around 8 years and guns finally broke around 9-10 years. The newer version does not seem to be as durable as the compressor regulator broke after about 8 months on my second one. Also the guns have more plastic in them now. I now only use hitachi guns because of the 5 year warranty but for homeowner use only the porter cables are still decent .

Not sure of your budget but for ~$500 you can get this
