I have a good friend taking a job in Albuquerque after the first of the year.

Anyone have insight into the club seen and costs there? While he likes golf, joining a club would be as much for him to meet people and use the amenities (work out, pool, restaurant, etc.) and social interaction.

Check out Paako Ridge. Very nice.

Unless I'm missing something, while it's a great course it isn't a club. Just a public course that's part of a resort.

They have a membership program but it's just golf. There aren't facilities like a pool and such. Paako also closes in the winter.

It's a badass course though.

Guess you are right about that. Went there for work and drove to Paako to see it, looked great to me. Wouldn't think there would be a much nicer golf course in Albuquerque but there probably are clubs there with more amenities.

We were there in August for a golf trip. Come to think of it I never made a thread for that trip. Nevertheless we played Paako, Twin Warriors, Sandia, UNM Championship, and Black Mesa. Paako was by far the best course, especially the 10-18 nine holes. Twin Warriors and Black Mesa were great as well. Couple tricked up holes at Black Mesa. Sandia was fine. Didn't care for UNM all that much but was a pretty good value.

Where did you stay? Thinking about going in August with 6-8 guys and trying to find the best stay and play. As it looks right now, Sandia might get that nod.

Try the Hyatt Tamaya Resort. Twin Warriors is there. Maybe 40 minutes to PaKo and 40 to Black Mesa (Santa Fe) and less than 20 to UNM.
And a casino on the same road.

One place I played awhile ago was Pueblo de Cochiti Golf Course. North of ABQ about 50 miles going towards Los Alamos.

It was a really good experience. Fun and challenging course.

I'm going to a wedding this fall that's at Sandia so I'm sure there will be a round there. I'll try to make sure I squeeze one in at Paako too it looks great.

One of those on the top 100 list I had never heard of

We rented a big house in the northwest suburbs of Albuquerque.

Paako was pretty awesome. The golf course itself was fantastic. The second nine is one of the best nine's I can recall playing.

4th. Probably the biggest green I have ever seen.

We skipped Cochiti when we took our trip due to some bad word of mouth from some locals. Reviews online were mixed as well.

I'm playing Paako on Saturday and just got a new driver yesterday. Excited to let it rip in that thin desert mountain air
