Why is iron head cover frowned upon?

I don't use them because I use 22 year old cast iron set. But you betcha I will cover my irons if they were Miura forged muscle backs.. And I'd take a penalty drop instead of scuffing my irons.

So for those y'all who frown upon iron covers, do you keep driver head cover on? Why?

My driver doesn't get repeatedly slammed into the turf/dirt/sand/rocks every shot so it deserves to be covered plus woods can crack or break from hitting other clubs. Your irons are literally made to be beat up.

How about 3 wood, 5 wood and hybrids... Do they not hit the turf?

I don't know man... Obi WG's Ping G400 looks like it took a divot every swing..

Not sure, but I also don't know why so many golfers care about what others do when they golf if it has nothing to do with them.

Iron head covers, name on bag or name not on bag, visor vs standard hat, white belt, etc. I've heard people comment on a number of things about other people that has no bearing on how they perform.

Those fall into category of being breakable/crackable in my opinion. I agree with poster above though I don't care any which way what people do with their **** lol those are just the reasons that go on in my mind for not seeing iron covers as necessary imo

Edit: it's like the people that talk mess about a club brush and say you're supposed to use a towel…well I don't have a caddy and don't want to have a wet rag on my bag so I gladly use w brush lol

Agree with this. Need that brush, don't use often but it is in the bag for emergency groove cleaning.

My buddy is getting ready to buy the Miura CB 301's. I have the 50, 56 and 60 degree wedges and will think twice about using them in the rocks, and we have plenty of that in San Antonio.

By colored tees I assume you mean a color besides black or white? Almost every tee I have in my bag is black or white and last I checked those are both colors.

What about having your name embroidered on your bag? I'd say it's index dependent and it's very low…never thought about the matching head covers. I have two pins and aces that match (American flags). That with a simple vessel bag keeps it pretty minimalist.

What's a divot tool? I have a "ball mark" repair tool and I just usually sand my divots.

What's a divot tool? I have a "ball mark" repair tool and I just usually sand my divots.
It probably autocorrected to divot poster did not catch it -- Should have said Pivot.
