Can anyone recommend a nice course to play other than the resort courses in San Antonio, we have played those. Watching the Valero Friday and might want to golf on Saturday. Thanks in advance

Brackenridge is awesome, but will probably be slammed on a Saturday. Goes for most of the Alamo City Golf Trail courses. If you can make a drive, Vaaler Creek near Blanco and The Bandit near New Braunfels are both a lot of fun.

drive up 281 to Vaaler Creek in Blanco. Greens were great last weekend, overseeded fairways too

Canyon Springs isn't too far from the Valero if you're staying in that area (10 mins). They re-did the greens and they are much faster than before. Also a good place for beverages on the course . The Quarry is in great shape but it's difficult when the wind starts really blowing. Canyon Will probably be about 80/90 on a weekend and Quarry around 100. My two favorite courses in town.

Play the quarry a few weeks ago during a front. Wind was 30-35mph whole time. Really enjoyed the course but that wind was brutal

What was the wind like on the back 9?

Last time I played it the front nine had a good breeze, almost too much. Got to the back and it was dead still on the ground. But it seemed to really move the ball around in the air.

Played Cedar Creek yesterday morning. Fairways were in decent shape and finally greening up after getting a little rain. Greens still pretty hard. A couple of greens weren't in great shape but overall not too bad. They have finally opened up the grass part of the range this week too.
