Trying to plan a weekend golf trip for 4 guys. We are split between Dallas, Houston and West Texas. Any suggestions for in between Houston/Dallas/San Antonio? More about catching up with old friends, not everyone is a great golfer so don't need to shoot for high end necessarily.

Ideal would be to stay onsite somewhere in a cabin, play poker and drink whiskey at night after 18 holes in the morning. Not looking to go as nice as Barton Creek, local country gem would be fine. Either way works, just haven't found anything geared to what I'm looking for yet.

The golf club of Texas in Concan . Plenty of Vrbo options very close by in a very nice area.

try valler creek in blanco.

Some cool places to stay in the vrbo world: https://www.vrbo.com/1734599?adultsCount=8&noDates=true&utm_campaign=earned%3Avrbo%3Asharecopylink%3AUSA&utm_content=1734599&utm_medium=social&utm_source=direct

Vaaler has nice condos for rent through the golf course as does the Bandit in New Braunfels.

Might be outa the way for some but if you can swing it Pine Dunes in Frankston just opened up some brand new condos and they look legit.

Also Traditions has condos available I think that gets you access to the course?

Colovista has cabins on site and gives you the opportunity to play a morning round there and an evening round at somewhere like Pine Forest or the Hyatt (can get pretty good deals surprisingly).

What about Sugartree out in Lipan? They have accommodations and I believe a par 3 setup just for overnight guests.

The Hideout Golf Club and Resort. It's located at Lake Brownwood.

Pine Dunes checks all your boxes. Hour and a half east of DFW. Great track with cabins on site and really reasonable price.

It's gotten better over the last 6 months, but still could use some work. They said by the spring it'll be back in good shape. OP didn't give a time frame so if it's a spring or summer trip, it'd be fine (and cheap).

Second Hideout Lake Browonwood. It's a nice course, but still fun to play for the casual golfer.

They have cabins you can rent and stay on site. There's not a ton else to do in the area unless you have a boat in the summer.
